AWD rain squealing problem on NON-Rs

I have 05 S60 AWD which is not an R model, but I am getting this rain squealing noise.
I found out that it is mostly R-model problem and many people suggested that the fix from Volvo does not work and I have to cut out the resonator to really solve the problem.
For the non-R-model, the fix from Volvo would not work either? Do I have to cut out the resonator just like R-models do to fix this problem? Thank you in advance for your reply.

All those P2 cars have the same setup with exhaust and the drive shaft (except front wheel drive cars). I would think that they all have the potential for rain squeal. It's probably a bigger problem for the R because of hotter exhaust gasses. My R has no squeal so far. My mother's XC70 has an extra brake that clamps on the exhaust pipe just behind the resonator. It goes in place of the EBD (exhaust bracket of death). The EBD is a useless part that just bends under the exhaust pipe and connects to both sides of the tunnel. I think it's what connect to the assembly line when assembling the uni-body. Most R guys take it off because the lower the car, the EBD catches something and causes all sorts of havoc. So probably more info than you needed about that, but it took me quite some time to find out what EBD and rain squeal meant.
I would think that same bracket would work fine for you. It's on my mom's XC70.
