Bedsprings need lubrication

I have a 2016 S60 T5 Inscript Platinum with 65K miles. I noticed recently, driver's side front, a "scrunching" noise developing whenever I go over a speed bump. I can hear it a little coming out of a downward sloped driveway also. I'm thinking it may either be a control arm bushing, or a strut bearing which I dealt with on another vehicle. There's no clunking as far as I can tell when turning the steering wheel full rotation at a standstill. Anyone have experience with this and what might I be looking at? Sounds like an old bedspring and has gotten more prominent recently.

Have you inspected the spring itself? for some models (like the Gen 1 S40s) the coils are prone to breaking - usually the last 2-3 inches on the seat or perch which creates a metal on metal noise. Strut mounts/bearings can also fail. Do you year anything odd when backing out of a parking space full lock turning back to straight? Speed bump noises are usually the strut mount/bushings or sway bar endlinks. My experience with control arm bushings is that the car seems to wander in and out of alignment and the steering feels vague when cornering. I'd start by lifting the front end (both wheels) pulling the wheels off then do a visual check on the springs top and bottom, and feel for any play in the end links, sway bar bushings etc. you can try moving the hubs with the wheels on for any play as well. If the springs are good, then I'd bet its either the end link or one of the strut mounts.
