Default The best tires for 2002?

I need to replace the tires on my 2002 s60 and I am not sure what the most recommended kind of tires would be. I am willing to spend a good amount of money for a great tire. Any suggestions? Thanks!

It depends on a lot of factors, such as what environment you live in, and if you prefer longer tread wear or better handling. What size are your tires?

Tire size is the first thing needed and like what other post says what are you looking for in new tires. All-season(wet,dry,snow),street performance(Grip),Looks ??

I live in New England, so I would prefer an all-season tire most likely. Good handling is important too. They are 205-55-16. Thanks!

Check out the Continental Extreme Contact DWS, it's the best handling all season tire that does really good for an all season. It's also priced below the Michelins and Bridgestones.

I agree about the Contis. I'm in Michigan, so snow isn't exactly unknown to us. They perform well. Only slick ice seems to slow them down, but then that slows everybody down.

I ordered a set of these (DWS's) on Monday, should be here by weeks end. I cant wait to get rid of these crappy Eagle RS-A's, theyre noisy and I think theyre all out of round/shifted belts my car shakes a lot on the highway. Theyre really dangerous in any amount of snow or rain. My set in the rear were older than the set in the front so I couldnt rotate, also not good for the AWD but at least the tires matched.

I'm expecting a lot from these tires. I am still going to use stock wheels though... a bit tight on cash now and I've spent enough on this car.

I also picked up some OEM replacement torque rod bushings, lower and upper. The poly upper bushing I got from IPD is making a lot of cabin vibrations and I found out my lower bushing is shot.

All this new rubber, Going to feel like a different car next week. (I hope..)
