Default Blower Motor won't shut off

Hi folks, 2006 Volvo S60 2.5T. I turned off the air conditioning but yet the blower motor stayed on, even when I shut the key off. Any ideas?

Are you sure you aren't hearing the radiator fan? If you are sure it's the blower motor and you feel air coming from the vents, does it turn off after you open your door?

I did not open the door, but it did eventually power off after I shut the car off. It is not the radiator fan, air coming from the vents for sure.

I don't remember if the fan stays on after the car is off until the driver door is open or not on that generation. I am thinking maybe it does?

No, not the blower motor. I've always shut the HVAC off before shutting the car off anyway.

The electronic fan speed resister is bad. If it stayed on, battery will be dead this morning

It's located underneath the fan motor, an easy DIY.

It did shut off when I powered off the HVAC when I got home. I'm hoping that was just a one-time fluke, but with 177,000 miles, I'm not sure. I see the process to replace both the resistor and the fan motor on YouTube if push comes to shove.

Is replacing the blower motor/resistor something I have to disconnect the battery for?

Okay folks, replaced the blower motor and resistor with parts from FCPEuro, made all the connections, but now I got nothing. Fuse is good. Any suggestions?
