Default Blue Painters Tape

Hi Everyone,

I have a question regarding Scotch Blue Painters Tape. I am shipping my 2005 S60 across the country next week via open carrier. I am concerned about debris and fluids from the other vehicles affecting my cars paint. I cant find any of the white film used when delivered from the factory in time. Has anyone used blue painters tape to mask off the paint for protection. Likely the car would be masked for less than 2 weeks. Any advice would be apreciated.

Thanks

Joe

If the car is over 6 months old, it is NOT likely that any tape will harm the paint or trim.

If you are still looking at options you may want to consider thinking outside the box a bit more. A roll of carpet protecting film used by contractors to keep from tracking footprints in halls and stairs can stick for up to 30 days. A roll of that is about $12 and takes less time to apply.

I left blue painters tape on may car when a new windshield was installed and forgot to remove a piece after about 2 weeks it ate the clear coat.
