I bought the S60 I was looking at. It is the non-turbo fwd model. I just had a quick question. When I am accelerating quickly, it seems to take the transmission a little while to shift. It goes to shift and it just takes it an extra second. Is this normal? Is it maybe a software issue?

Also, while I'm asking questions, I was told that it would be fine on regular gas, as in 87 octane. The manual seems to make it sound like it only takes premium. Is this correct? Will I be okay on 87?

I use 87 in my '02. Cannot tell the difference except in the price at the pump.
What year S60 did you get?

 

First thing you should do is make sure you have the latest software update on the trans.

Second thing is change the trans fluid

Thirdly, 87 octane is just fine for an engine with 168 horses. Mine runs fine on it.

 

Thanks for the replies. I bought a 2004. How would I go about seeing if it has the latest software? Just ask the dealership and see if they did it?
