Brake Booster Question.
Car in question is a '01 S60 T5 automatic. 138k on it.
Ever since I bought the car a couple years ago at 117k, the brake booster would hiss intermittently. It's gotten worse and I figure I should just replace it. I looked on IPD and the one for cars w/o traction control runs at $219. With traction control is about $560. My car is equipped with traction control, but personally I hate it. Every time it snows, I turn it off before I put it into Drive. I don't want to pay an extra $300 something for an option I don't even use, nor do I like. Can I just get the $219 and leave the hose that usually hooks into the brake booster for the T/C unhooked, or will this cause a CEL or the Traction Control light to stay on (or potential damage something else)?
Any help appreciated!
