Default Broken shifter button- 04 S60

The plastic button on my 04 S60 AWD is broken. The part that was attached to the metal pivot pin broke off and I got it back in there then electrical taped it on- will work for now but I need a new one. I assume the button cannot be replaced, so I need the whole shifter?

I read that on other models the shifter just pulls off when the car is in neutral- true? To replace it, do I just pop a new shifter into place? Where to find a new one?

Help me out please- I am new here!
Thanks
Bob

Hello, there is another thread on this if you do a search, but all you have to do is release the collar, usually by turning a 1/4 turn, and then you can be in any gear and you have to pull up, very hard, watch your face. good luck PS- putting it in might be difficult too, use something to pad your hand when you HIT it back in.

It is an automatic and I think the other thread is about a manual shifter.
