Butterfly Valve Inside Throttle Box-Correct Position?
I do not have a photo, but I am just curious about something...
2002 Volvo s60 base model.
Car is acting like it has a vac leak...rough idle...prone to stall when you stop quickly or try to accelerate from stopped quickly.
Opened the throttle box to see if it was dirty and the butterfly valve inside is open about 1/3" with the car turned off.
My husband says this is not normal, that it should be completely closed.
Volvo mechanic I called says it is normal, it should be open.
We have checked for vacuum leaks and cannot find any. CEL throws code P0101, which is MAF sensor.
So, before I drop some cash on a new MAF sensor...is this butterfly valve position normal/correct? I have googled for hours and cannot find a photo of a correctly positioned butterfly valve.
