Default Can you add heated front seats after-market?

I recently acquired a used s60-r...there are very few options available on this car, but one that the original owner didn't get was heated front seats. That makes sense in california, but not up north!

Does anyone know what equipment is pre-installed in the s60-r that doesn't have the heated seats?

I know there are some shops that can 'install' heated seats...but i don't want them to mess with the electrical system. I was hoping, especially with the R, that most of the equipment was already in the car....

Any thoughts on how to easily add the heated seats in - or is this just a bad idea?

Well the wires are there under the seats for the heated seats. So pick up a set of heated seats and the switches the wires are there also. Then plug the whole deal in. Or suck it up and don't be such a wuss.

It gets to -20 here for 3 weeks during the winter so it's a bit more than that.

Does the whole seat have to be replaced or is there a heating component that can be added into it?

you can add just the heating element. But you better be damn sure you know how to mess with stretching seat leather back once you do it.
