Certified Pre-owned 2012 S60
I will greatly appreciate to clarify below items to help me on car purchase.
I have narrowed my choice between Subaru vehicles equipped EYE Sight or VOLVo City Safety+Tech Package.
Certified Pre-owned 2012 S60 from a dealer for $33K with 12K miles.
Brand new 2013 model with similar features is coming for 43K.
Brand new Subaru with Eyesight comes around 30K.
I have 15 yr old Honda Civic and 7 yr Toyota Matrix with no repairs so this purchase is a big leap for me.
1.Is the CPO a reasonable deal?
2. I saw mixed reports with repairs on 2012 model. Would you suggest getting consider any other additional warranty to cover the unexpected repairs. CPO comes with 7 yr /100K warranty.
3. New vehicle comes with 5 yr maintenance included so should I consider the Plus warranty to include maintenance costs? This will be included in the car loan.

I don't know what they charge for CPO nowadays, but it is the most hassle-free extended warranty you can get on a Volvo.
Other companies offer extended warranty plans, and most are a pain in the ***. Some have deductibles, CPO does not. They need someone at the dealership to call in any repairs needed for authorization. Some companies send out inspectors if the claim is a certain amount. Some send used parts. Some send aftermarket parts. All of that takes time. Some only cover certain things.
The new S60's haven't really been around long enough for me to tell you how reliable they are, but so far, so good. I haven't seen anything too major yet, but I haven't seen any with 100,000 miles yet either..
