Default Changing dash lights

I'm thinking of changing my dash (speedo/tach) lights to a blue or maybe red/orange. Has anyone tried this orknow what size bulb is used in the dash? I read the instrument panel removal how-to from the IPD website and it doesn't sound to hard to take out and and install. Any suggestions welcome...

I've seen pics of it done. The bulb style is a T5. The only drawback would be that the leds are so much brighter that they become noticeable. Blue looks great though.

OK Thanks... I just found these T5 LEDs

These are only like $8 for 10 LEDs. They look about the same size as a 194 wedge base bulb...

tech, you can find them on ebay. Just do a quick search like 'T5 12v led' or whatever. I saw several priced at $5 plus $5 for shipping.

It was a web store in China. http://www.virtualvillage.com/items/...edium=shopping

Shipping was only like $7.00 for China Post Office shipping but I had visions of it taking a looooong time to get shipped so I found a different web store that had them for $2.50 each. (http://ledlight.com)

OK, I just finished totally disassembling my instrument cluster and it looks like replacement with the blue LEDs mentioned above is a NO-GO on the 06 models at least. I followed the IDP instructions to remove the instrument cluster which worked great. With the instrument cluster in front of me on a soft piece of cloth, I removed the 'glass' and then the instrument panel face. After physically removing the temp guage I learned that all the 'lights' for the instrument panel are tiny surface mount LED's that can't be safely removed or easily replaced on the instrument panel circuit board. (Little 1/16" squares) I bagged the mod, and put the insrument cluster back together with no changes.... Everything seems to work fine after a brief start-up test, so 5 stars for the IDP documentation.

That sounds about normal. All the s60's have all had integraated board lighting. the bulbs basically never burn out. by the time yoy burn the bulbs out in this cars intrument cluster, the thing will probably have been in a scrap yard for 20 years.

Does anyone know if you can use an instrument cluster from a 2000- 2003 S60 in a 2007 S60. I have a 2007 and I want to change the cluster's lights but I don't want to go through the process of changing out the LEDs. I know the older model S60s have bulbs and not LEDs, Any suggestions?
