Changing ignition switch without removing ignition lock assembly
I have S60 2005 that is having sometimes problem to start. Turning the key to start position might cause it start less than a second before cutting off and next time starting normally. I suspect ignition switch might be cause or starter, but how it behaves I'm suspecting more the ignition switch.
I searched for the ignition switch and seems it's hold with only two screws. What I couldn't find out if it can be changed without removing the ignition lock assembly from steering column. If it could be changed without removing the ignition lock assembly that'd make things much easier as I have to work outside and it's winter now. That's why I'm asking here too. Too cold to go just explore.
So, can the ignition switch be changed without removing the ignition lock assembly? (the part that goes around the steering column and have those bolts 'without heads' that would have need screws to cut on if they'd to be removed.)

Yes, as you said - the ignition switch is simply held on with two screws and the column lock stays in place..
Ok, that's good. I wasn't sure if the switch is somehow enclosed with the lockbody although attached with two screws.
