Check Engine light - can a so-so battery be the cause?
My 2005 S60 T5 (152k miles) started showing the Check Engine light, just a few weeks before the California Smog Test. According to my repair shop, there are several (6 or 7) low-voltage error codes (sorry, didn't note them down). They pointed at my 60-70% battery and corroded connectors as a possible cause, before going into further trouble shooting. They cleaned the connectors, sent me back home and gave me another appointment since cleaning the connectors didn't fix it. I decided to either fully charge my battery, or maybe even replace it before going back. So I checked pricing for batteries and noticed many being $250 or more, some no brand being $150. I guess we'll be fine with the cheaper one it it fits.

Two questions:
- Did anybody have a similar experience? I understand that the old 2005 had a share of electrical issues.
- Disconnecting the battery for a minute resets the Check Engine light, correct?
Last time I needed a battery, I used NAPA online and got a discount coupon on the web. Order gets placed to your local store so you just drive over and pick it up. I did a quick look and saw batteries in the 140 range - and that was before the 20 off coupon.
