Default Check Engine Light, no codes

2008 S60 AWD turbo, 147,000 miles purchased used. I have a check engine light on and ODB code reader (Autel AL619) is not showing any codes. Checked the gas cap and it seems to be OK. Also stopped at Autozone with CEL on and their reader showed no codes.

Any ideas?

If you're sure its the CEL, you need a better scanner

100% of the time at my shop if the CEL was on there was a code we could find using VIDA - so not sure what to tell you, other that the free autozone or your autel is not finding it.

Yes, it is the CEL. I'm thinking Volvo has them trapped outside of the generic ODBII. Any recommendations on scanner? Might be a trip to the local Volvo enthusiast garage or dealer.

Vida is a free download easily found (Swedespeed has a copy in the ODB section) - A dice unit is ~$100
