Default Clutch Issues (Input Please)

To begin my car is a 2004 Volvo S60R with 77K.

So I am getting ready to leave work and I push my clutch in to put the car in gear. I notice that it is somewhat sticky when I push it in. I didn't think too much of it because it was wet and cold outside. Thought it might be from the cold.

So I'm leaving the parking lot and notice a noise. The noise sounds like a belt that has water on it like a squeaky noise when you first start up a car and the timing belt makes the squeaky noise. The squeaky noise is a bit softer. However the noise doesn't go away until I put it into neutral.

Anyway I'm driving on the highway now and the clutch was functioning fine and I was able to shift into gear so I'm thinking nothing of it.

I pull into my development and downshift. When I push the clutch in it is even more sticky then when I left work and is taking its sweet time to come back up.

Well I finally turn onto my street and push the clutch in to downshift. When I do this the clutch sticks to the floor and I can't get out of gear and stall out.

I am able to get it parked and take it out of gear. I pop the hood and look to see if there is any fluid in the brake/clutch reservoir, which there is fluid in it. I notice a slight burning smell. It somewhat smelled like an alternator when it goes.

Anyway what are your thoughts in diagnosis. I'm thinking I am going to need a new clutch. I was looking at clutches and obviously I can get the OEM one. I also saw SPEC clutches and have read mixed reviews on those as well. Are there any other clutch manufacturers out there that are worth while that have setups for the Volvo S60R. Also does anyone have a SPEC clutch that could comment about them.

Thanks guys

Might just be an issue with the slave cylinder. It's a known problem with the R's. Do some research on Swedespeed's Rforum or just repost this and you'll get some help. http://forums.swedespeed.com/forumdi...php?51-R-Forum

No problem, and it looks like you got some good answers on what to do and where to get the parts. Tasca is a great resource of cheap OEM parts. And you'll save a lot of money by going through an indie tech like BKA did instead of a dealer.

Yeah I got a good indy that does all my work that I trust. Def taking it there to get the work done instead of getting raped by the dealer.

I will try Tasca tommorow and get some prices. Thanks again.
