Cruise Control Buttons Not Working
Just bought an 01' S60 a few weeks ago and had it in to the dealer the other day to just get it checked over and the tech did a diagnostic check. The diagnostic check indicated my catalytic converter was bad. Fine. My cruise control was working fine until i brought it in now none of the buttons function. The stereo controls on the other side of the steering wheel fine. What gives? Sounds like something might have gotten disconnected but i don't now. I'd take it back to the dealership but the nearest one is three hours away.
Cruise started working again. I was driving it the other day and started to step on the break and it felt a little weird. I've read of issues with the vacuum pump/brake sensor causing the cruise control to not. I'm thinking it's one of those. Also i've never received any error messages of any kind.
That's funny; I bought an '01 S60 a few weeks ago myself, and had a similar problem. Sometimes the cruise won't turn on at all. When it does, it works fine. But sometimes I can push the cruise button endlessly, and the indicator just won't light up. Your comment about the sensor is one I'll keep if it keeps up. My stepson needed to borrow my other car (which I'd like to sell to him anyway), and I can't give this one up for the dealer to look at until and unless I get that one back. So we'll see.
