Hi I have a 2002 s60 T5 and confuse as to change the trans oil or not.. It has 110,000 miles the trans shift great no problem with it, but the oil is dark it doesn't smell black but i dont know if I have to change it. What do you think it would be best? I've heard after a certain mileage u cant change the trans oil cause new oil will damage the trans?? what should I do

 

Change atf ASAP or your tranny will be toast soon. 01-02MY have tranny prob. so do it now. Use JWS 3309 atf like Mobil or Toyota T IV. Search this site or othere forums on how to change atf.

 

Can I find that atf oil in autozone or pepboyz?

No you cannot. Do you have a Toyota dealer near by? If not your best option is to order the mobil 3309 on line. If you change your ATF through the transmission cooling line (the easiest way in my opinion) you will need about 14quarts to flush the entire ATF. Get the IPD kit. It comes with instructions.
