Default Door module S60

HELP PLEASE??? 2001 S60 door lock, window, everything dead, and taken over by ghosts that try to lock and unlock the door after it's off. I'm pretty sure it's the module but don't know how it comes out. I can get it up about three inches, but can't reach the plugs to get it out. Does the door panel have to come off and if so, how?[]

The door panel have to come off.
There is clips around the bottom and mid section.
Also the handle you pull to close the door the outer cover pulls off to gain access to 2 screws.

But when you unplug the door module it will keep th einterior lights on all the time and eventually kill the battery.

Taking it to a Volvo dealer causes significant damage to your wallet. The purpose of all these discussions is to try and avoid dealer induced financial damage.
The door panel removal is not beyond anyone that can change their own oil.

Now what???? just replaced with brand new Volvo module but it is not reacting at all. I read somewhere that the module may have to be "turned on" by the dealer??? I have a cheap set of door panel removal tools bought at Harbor Freight for about $3 and one hour to totally replace the unit, no problem. Any ideas how to activate? I have already cycled the key on and off and disconnected the battery.

Yes you have to take it to the Dealer so they can download software to make it work.

When mine went, I tookthe whole switch assembly apart to see what the problem was. With mymine the problem was the contacts between thecircuit board and the buttons were just dirty. I sprayed the whole board with contact cleaner and it now works fine. Also, since it is the original unit installed, there is no reprogramming at the stealership.
