Default Double clunk when placing in gear

I have a 2004 S60 2.5T with 35,000 miles, which we bought last week. Now that I have spent more time in it, I have noticed that when I shift it into drive, it engages as I would expect. A split second later, it feels like it has just been shifted into drive again and wants to lunge forward. Any thoughts on this? Otherwise, the tranny shifts smoothly while driving.

Default RE: Double clunk when placing in gear

It could be a simple trans upgrade. Do you feel a "bang" when it is going into to gear or more of a shift?
