Engine dying when coming to a stop

Engine dying when coming to a stop
My fiance has a 2001 S60 2.5 and her check engine light is on. Haven't been able to take it down to have the code read but I'll mention some symptoms and I would greatl appreciate it if anyone here knows what the problem might be. When she comes to a stop, the engine will die. It restarts very easily and doesn't always die at stops, but it is becoming more frequent. The oil and air filters are fresh and I cleaned the MAF sensor. Any ideas? EGR? O2 sensors? Thanks in advance!

Could be Injectors, or Fuel Pump, Gas Cap loose. . . . Could be a number of things. You will get a much better idea when you get the code read.
Take it to your local Autozone or Advance Auto. . . They'll read it for free and clear them for you too.

A lose gas cap won't cause the engine to die. I'm almost 99% sure it's related to the ETM. Sometimes ETM problems are even covered under warranty, so if you take it to the dealer it MAY not cost you anything.

RE: Engine dying when coming to a stop
Thanks for the advice guys. Sounds like an ETM issue after doing a bit of research on the net. Did the lawsuit ever get pushed through to allow owners to get a free cleaning at the dealership? Any ideas what code will be thrown if I get a diganostic done if this is an ETM failure? Thanks again for the advice!

Reading the codes will most likely tell you if it's the ETM.
In either case, the ETM is covered for 10 years or 200,000 miles.
Your choice of having the dealer charge you for a diagnostic and hope that the ETM is the problem and he won't charge you or just stop buy Autozone or Advance Auto and read the codes for free first.
