Engine light won't go off?
I've gone to autozone several times and it keeps giving the same emissions code. They say it's just the gas cap. I bought a new one and the light hasn't gone off, been well over a week so I gave it time. My BF told me to try a higher grade gas, I did, no change. both tries I had the light shut off and it came back on.
Any idea why the light won't go off? I don't want to ignore it because if something else goes wrong I won't be alerted because I'll just think it's the emissions thing.

If the reason truly is cheap gas, take the negative end of the battery off for 30 minutes which will reset the ECM. The check engine light will reset during this process as well, but will come back on if there is a real problem with the emissions. If it does come back on, you more than likely have an O2 sensor going bad or a fuel-air mixture problem.
I have been getting these check engine lights off and on for months now. I think I finally got it. I think the gas cap vent hole that was in the cap was clogged. I cleaned the cap inside and out and the light has been off for a month now. The longest ever.
Willing to bet that it's "Small Evap Leak". They told me that it was the gas cap a couple of times but it turned out to be the "J" hose which had a crack and is a known issue with these cars. Here is the part you are looking for.
