Engine Start Bezel switch -plastic face
Has anyone successfully replaced their plastic engine start bezel switch? (face only) I have a worn out button and I bought an inexpensive replacement, thinking it would be an easy pop-out-pop-in deal. NOT! I broke a plastic trim tool before realizing it probably won't come out through the front hole. Don't want to have to remove the entire head unit for a $7 piece of plastic.
Any help is appreciated.

Sorry -2016 S60 T5 Inscription, 44K miles. The plastic engine start switch is worn (black has turned to white) and ditto for the chrome-plastic "air-flow man" body section switch in the center console. These plastic parts are subpar, then again I would assume they are chinese parts so there you are. We had a 2005 Jetta in the family with the same plastic wear and tear problem. Starting to think it's not an easy fix though...

Hit an online Volvo parts house like Tasca and wander through their parts catalogue to match up what you have and see what the parts cost. Keep in mind electronic parts may need programing to work.
Guessing from the year your engine start is in the dash rather than in the steering column and after a look at the Tasca site what you want may not be overly expensive. The HVAC directional control buttons are going to be expensive. They would be part of the complete HVAC control.
