First Volvo and need some advice please!!
One of my neighbors is selling his 2003 Volvo S60 AWD, it's has about 80k on the clock and the car is really clean inside and out! He is asking 6k for the car and now this is where I need your help! Is that a good price for this car? Also, what are the things I should worried about at 80k? I am a little
Scared of buying a Volvo because a lot of people say they are expensive to maintaine and that they are not very reliable. Should I stay away from it or go ahead and pick it up! Thanks!!

Ask for proof of maintenance and history. The timing belt shouldve been done last year due to time. A lot of things that fail around that milage are just normal wear and tear like mounts and bushings. A lot of people say that these cars are unreliable but those are the same people that dont take care of the car. They expect the car to last forever with very little maintenance done to the car. Sure they are expensive to maintain but when people do it right, I've seen these cars go 300k+ miles.

My '02 has 172K on it with no serious issues in sight. Avoid the dealer when at all possible, DIY the stuff you can, and find a good local Volvo specialist. Yes it will be a bit more expensive to maintain, but compare what you would pay for an Accord or Camry of the same vintage, condition, and mileage and you will find yourself with $3K in your pocket to help offset the more expensive repairs/maintenance.
