Hi All,

When I start my engine it makes a funny noise which lasts a second or two and then dies out. It sounds like someone put a stick in a running fan. It only lasts a second or two and it is not dependent on temperate either as it makes it on random days regardless of how hot/cold it is.

Any ideas what that can be?

Check your oil pressure? How many miles?

Which oil pressure am I checking? I just had it serviced from volvo dealership at 158K as the engine light sign was on. They fixed it, but the problem started a month or so after the fact. Hate to go there again as it's bloody expensive.
