So i have a 2002 Volvo s60 AWD and it's an automatic with Geartronic (tiptronic?) shifting available. All i have to do is put it in drive and then slap the shifting **** over into "manual shifting" and then just push it up to shift up and down to shift down. This seems much more fun and entertaining than driving in automatic all the time so I was just wondering that when driving with Geartronic, how do i work it? Do i have to let off the gas when i shift up or down? Do i have to do anything other than just move the **** forward or backyard? Is it like shifting with a manual transmission minus the clutch? Any help at all is greatly appreciated.

Just shift it, it is all done electronically. Be careful when downshifting. The main idea of the geartronic is to increase fuel economy.

Have fun with it that's what its there for. MPG will suffer if you run the RPM out but i love it. Its been said that while down shifting if you give it a small amount of gas while doing it the car will shift smoother. It takes a little time to get use to it but the car will fell better. Some time the down shifts are a little abrupt. I use GT all the time and have a lot of fun with it. My car is tuned so for me to get the full "fun" out of the added torque and HP the Gt is a must.
