Default Greetings

Hello Team Volvo,

I have traveled here to gather some insites of the great volvo minds. I have an 01 volvo s60 2.4t Auto. that needs some work.

I'm going to perform the work myself, but claim to be no jack of all trades. I've rebuilt, and raced a few cars and enjoy it. If it burns gas, I know I can fix it.

Nonetheless, my plight......

01 s60 2.4t 193k miles

Issues: MASSIVE oil leak at crankshaft=oil trap needs servicing
timing belt was serviced at 119k, but now has oil on it (replacement)
Shocks in rear are worn
Should I change the cam seals while I'm in there?

Any suggestions and tips will be appreciated. I've had quotes from 3800 with parts to 2200 with parts.

I have shocks and an oil trap kit coming from eeuroparts. I have a complete timing belt kit with cam and crank seals with water pump coming via ebay.

This seems like a massive job but doable. I'd like to do it once and forget about it.

Thanks in advance.

I see that there have been plenty of views, but no tips or suggestions? With all the volvo diehards here I guess no one has any suggestions on how to repair this.

It's ok. After careful research and studying this motor. I have everything pretty much figured out and am on the way to putting it all back together.

I'd like to think people come to forums for advice and assistance, but I guess the help I was seeking was too much for the gurus hear.

Good luck gents with your future endeavors.
