Default Help with 90,000 mile service.

Hey everyone,

I'm a newbie to this forum. Can someone assist me with locating the fuel filter on my 01 s60? Also I want to replace the plugs, is there anything special I need? I have replaced the air and cabin filters already. Does anyone know where I can purchase a book on the 01 s60?

Thanks for your help!

I dont think there is a manual avalible yet.The fuel filter is located by the R/R tire you cant miss it.To change the plugs the only thing special you need is a torxes 30 bit to remove the spark plug cover.

Thanks, Tech! Now when I removed the spark plug cover there is a bar that extends arcoss the plugs with a nozzle at one end. Does that bar need to be removed to extract the plugs?

There should be coil packs on top of the plugs.5 coil packs 1 for each plug a 10mm screw holds the coil in.I think you might be asking about the fuel injector rail. You don't need to remove the rail at all.

Thanks again! You have been a money saver! One more thing, once I complete the 90k servicing how do I reset the check engine light? Also is there anything else you reccommend I do to complete this service?

Check all the fluids (duh)
Oil change, Oil Filter Change, check your belts for wear
When was the last time you had your brakes done?

To reset the check engine light:

Turn ignition switch to position 1.
Press and hold the trip counter button (that you press to measure whatever distance).
Turn ignition switch to position 2.
Continue holding day counter for about 10 seconds
After SRL flashes, release day counter button.
Turn your volvo off and start it up again.

Im sure tech will have things to add

Is the check engine light or the service light on?If the check engine light is on you will have to have some one pull codes to see what is wrong. It might be some thing as simple as the gas cap not tightened all the way.But if it is the service light follow Venders instructions.I think between Vender and I we covered everything.

Thanks for all the help, I have completed the 90k sevice! The "check engine" light is on not the service. I had Advance Auto check for codes but none were found. The message board reads "Emmission System Service Required". Is this something that must be done by the dealer? I have searched ALLDATA and there is nothing specific to the Emmission Service. Can anyone help out?

Yes you should at least have The dealer check for codes. It could be some thing as simple as the gas cap loose to a bad throttle body. There are many things that it could be.If you fuel up the car with it running or with the key on sometimes that will set the check engine light. The dealer will charge you 1 hour to pull codes and let you know what is wrong.
