Default Help Diagnose a Problem ... Hopefully

Hey All,

I've got an issue with an 02' S60, this is my brothers car and I've been trying to help him out.

Here's a history of problem, and what I've attempted to do to correct.

A month ago a bearing in the crank let go, so we replaced the engine with a used one. Now I'm getting a Misfire in Jug 2, here is my OBDII codes:

P0202 - Injector Circuit Open
P0302 - Misfire in Cylinder 2

I've tried moving the spark plug, the ignition coil and the fuel injector to a different cylinder to see if I can isolate the problem with no luck, i keep misfiring on cylinder 2. I've checked wiring harness to jug 2 and do not appear to see any issues with it. I've done a compression test on each cylinder and have a surprising 175lbs in each, seems high but this is the first volvo i've ever worked on.

After swapping the coil and clearing codes I seem to run fine for about 10 km and then the engine light flashes and I get a msg saying "TRY SLOW DOWN OR SHIFT UP" whatever that means then i get the above OBDII Codes. Any way if anybody has any insight in what to check next or look for that would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks!

Default One more thing!

Just so i'm troubleshooting the right jug, these inline engines start counting cylinders from left to right ... right?

As in Cylinder 1 would be closest to timing belt, and cylinder 5 closest to the flywheel? Please tell me I haven't been troubleshooting wrong cylinder.... LoL

Default Just an FYI

Problem was an intermittent contact on injector 2, as per obdII code.

Fixing up the connector to injector 2 sorted the problem.
