Default HU-613 CD Issues

Hello All,

Been browsing Volvoforums for a long time now, with never really a reason to post till now. I have a 2003 S60 2.4T with an HU-613. The CD player is having issues. It often doesn't want to take the CD completely; it will go in halfway, and then spit it back out. When it occasionally does take it, it plays the CD fine, but it sounds as if, when the CD is playing, that the CD is spinning against something. I would like to salvage the player if possible. Does anybody have any idea what's up?

Thanks!

Well, maybe I won't get feedback on this, but I was looking at a different player anyway. I've done some searching on the forums, but I don't think I have a definite answer: is it possible to simply replace the HU 613 head unit with an HU 803 head? What will be required for this?

the units are interchangable but you will need a software update from the dealer to make it work. also i think you may need to install an amp under the passengers seat
