Default Identify this noise...

I have a 2003 2.5T AWD. The noise is usually only present during cold tempuratures. When I accelerate, there is a rattling/clunking sound that seems to come from the front end somewhere. It is more prominent in a turn, but it usually will only be there at a certain position on the accelerator, and only in drive, not in park. Any ideas of what could be causing this?

Sounds like a CV axle gone bad.

Also maybe a bad driveshaft for the Rear Diff.

Assuming it's one of those two issues, what kind of cost would I be looking at?

Axle maybe like $400.00 or so installed.

Driveshaft about $1500.00 or $2000.00 installed.

You might want to have the dealer look it over to make sure which one it is.

That is not really common on the S60.
