Interesting Case Study - 2004 Volvo S60 2.4 Non-Turbo
As a licensed dealer, I have access to clean Volvos all over the country. We buy out of the southeast for obvious reasons. We found a very clean 04 model that had an extensive service history on CarFax.
Upon delivery of the car, it ran like crap. It had a very rough idle as well as a check engine light and a message to service the anti-skid system. There was no mention of the car running bad at the auction and we bought it on the Manheim simulcast, in Atlanta.
Plugging in the scanner, the systems are full of codes. Many of them are "loss of communication" which tells me that something was unplugged then plugged back in. Checking further, the engine is full of codes, throttle body, oxygen sensor, emissions malfunction and on and on. When I see that many codes I am suspicious that the car was tampered with at the auction.
So, a little investigation. I pull the throttle body and clean it. It appears to have been cleaned previously so I reinstall and same problem. I clear the codes and what I get back immediately is for the throttle body, oxygen sensor heater circuit and RPM signal missing. Ah ha. I think I have found something.
I reach down where the crank sensor is plugged in and, sure enough, the lead is sitting on the plug but not plugged in. I plug it in, start the car and it runs perfectly. I clear the codes and all is well. I was suspicious of an oxygen sensor but that appears to have cleared up as well. The anti-skid message disappeared as well. I suspect that without an engine speed, neither the stability system nor oxygen sensor circuit can function properly, either.
I've included pics below. It just goes to show that you can't necessarily chase every code. When you have a bunch, something is wrong out of the norm. Clear them and see what comes back.
I took it for a 10 mile drive this morning - perfect!

Friends, at the university gave the task to write an essay about Elon Musk and his contribution to alternative types of energy. Please help me with ideas. Yes, of course i can entrust the writing of an article, essay or any other creative writing work to professionals. For example, I cooperate with this resource https://paperleaf.ca/assignment/ Since I have little time to write texts, they always help me in writing very structured and deep essays.

A few ideas - 1) keep your posts on topic to the original thread or start a new thread 2) post your new threads to the appropriate forum. 3) since this has nothing to do with Volvos, it should be posted to the forum labeled as "OFF TOPIC" 4) don't be a troll. Do your own Google research and fact checks including learning how to spell Elon Musk's name.
