LED Headlight Replacement
Hello!
I am a Volvo nerd that is on my third Volvo. First, 96' 850 then to a 02' s60 and now a 2015 s60. Love the brand.
I have a question if anyone can answer this that would be great. This is purely a cosmetic preference. I wish the 2015 model had LED head lights. The replacement kits arent to pricey thinking about doing it. Has anyone done it? Looking for feedback.
Thanks!

I've been shopping for LED replacement bulbs on Amazon for my 2015 V60 as well. I believe that the DOT limit for auto headlights is about 1600 Lumens. Most of the LED bulbs that I have seen on Amazon are more like 4000 Lumens (each). I'd like brighter lights but I don't want to get flashed by every passing car or pulled over by the cops.

I'm pretty sure that if your only goal is to get brighter, whiter LED lights than the halogen(?) OEM bulbs, you really only have to replace the original bulbs with LED bulbs. They are very available on Amazon (and cheap). Like $20/pair. The original halogens draw 55 watts. The LEDs pull more like 30 watts. So dissipating the heat is not an issue. I bought some to retrofit an older car with halogens. These were only about 2000 Lumens. They do give off brighter, whiter light than the halogens but they are not a plug & play replacement. There is some modification needed to make them fit. I don't know if the bulbs for my V60 (H7 bulbs) are a plug & play.
