Default Maintenance and Turbo Issue

I'm sure this has been posted before but here goes.
I have a S60 2.5T 04' w/ 37k. Last I took the car to the dealer for maintenance was about 1.5 to 2k miles ago. I drive in moderate traffic (then highway) everyday for work, my question: Should I consider taking it to get the maintenance done again?? Also, when should the fuel filter be replaced? I don't think it's been done before.

2nd issue:
When I start the car in the morning, usually after it hasn't been driven for a few hours, I can hear the turbo make a whistling type of sound (at idle), after I drive for about 10-15 minutes and come to a stop again, it does not make that sound anymore.
Am I being paranoid?

Bonus question:
I noticed about half of the inside diameter of the front wheel discs have minor corrosion on them, and ever since the incompetents at Sears changed the brake pads, I can hear a slight humming sound at slow speeds (3-7mph). Does this corrosion have to do with the noise?

Excuse all the questions.
Thanks for the help!

Make sure you follow your maintenance shedule religiously and your Volvo will thank you for it! Since it sounds as you drive a lot, I would def. stick to the mileage Schedule as opposed to the monthly one. I drive about 2 minles to work and home. Most schedules for oil changes are 3 months OR 3,500 miles. I go by the month since my mileage will be under. For you, go by mileage. As far as the Fuel filter is concerned, they are so inexpensive (http://www.fcpgroton.com/product-exe...ategory_id/136 ) 23 bucks thru FCP grotton, you can change it as often as you like.. I would say maybe 20-30k. You can NEVER over service a vehicle, just under service will kill your car!

Thanks!
Do you know what might be causing that humming sound from the front brakes?

The fuel filter is normally changed around 100k miles but you can change it soon if you want.......normally these fuel filters don't get clogged to need changing sooner. Also, many owners changed from using regular oil to synthetic oil like Mobil 1 5-30 or 10-30 since it has better lubricating properties and side benefit helps conserve of natural resources. You can extend the mileage between oil changes too with syntethic oil, every 4k - 6k although my new Volvo mechanic recommends changing every 4k miles.

The turbo sound is normal, when you first start your car after its been sitting there is no oil in the turbo since it all drained out. Once in pumps back up in there it goes away cus there is oil in it. Make sure to be nice to your turbo, don't just turn the car on and start stomping on it. Let it warm up before going over 3500 rpms. Then when you stop the car try to keep your rpm's as low as possible for the minute or so before shutting it off.

I run diesel oil in both my turbo volvos (s60t5 and a 242ti) I use Rotella T because of the extra additives to keep down soot and valve train wear. Plus they are designed for higher temp diesel turbo motors, so less likely to coke up inside a hot turbo.

The brakes, if you have pedal vibration or the car pulls to a side when you hit the brakes, you might have a problem. If not, go out get the car up to 60 and give it a few maximum braking stops. Then see if that helped.

37k on an 04 sounds like you don't drive to far. I would wait on the fuel filter unless you're having running issues.
