Default '99 with 2,4l turbo - how about some maintenance?

Well, I just inherited this V70 FWD. It was free to me, but I know the person who owned it before, and I don't expect most of the scheduled maintenance to have been done. So, I thought I would run my list by you guys and see if you had anything to add.

Timing belt
Water pump since that part of the motor's already exposed
Spark plugs
Plug wires
Oil + filter
PCV valve (?)

Don't know if there's anything such as U-joints, etc. that I should need to lube as well...

Looks like you got a good handle on it...

Don't see cap and rotor though.

Also, how may miles on the clock? On the timing belt, most recommend doing the tensioner and pulleys every other belt (approx every 140 K mls).

No u-joints; CV joints in axles but no-maintenance; ck them for broken grease boots.

Hello, A 1999 w/cap and wires? Check again. When you do the plugs do a compression check. Do a transmission flush via the top cooling hose method-easy. Brake and P/S fluid flush. Why not the other filters (air, cabin air, fuel)? Get back to us after you determine if the ignition is mechanical or distributorless. Do a search on heater core/evaperator replacement. Kira

Ah! Fluid flushes, good call.

And CV joints, yes, not U-joints. My FWD terminology is a bit rusty, haven't had a car with CV's in a while

Oh and the car has 114k miles, since I omitted this in my original post

That's what I thought too, but he mentioned plug wires and fcp shows dist cap & rotor for '99 models...

So was '99 the transition year; some have cap & rotor while others have 5 coils?
