Default Mobil 1? Castrol GTX? or Pennzoil Platinum?

May anyone give me some suggestion on synthetic motor oil?
Mobil 1? Castrol GTX? or Pennzoil Platinum? , which one is better regarding turbo car?
Althought Castrol is recommended by dealers, some one told me that both Castrol and Mobil are not full synthetic motor oil (100% PAO).
Also is this true that oil with higher Zinc content can provide longer protection to turbo cars?

Actually Mobil 1 is is a true synthetic, not Castrol. Go to Bob is the Oil Guy Welcome to learn all about motor oil.
I run Mobil 5w-30 in my Sienna and my wife's v70.

Pennzoil Ultra is now the oil above Pennzoil Platinum. And I also did hear that Mobil 1 has the new EP, Extended Performance oil which is better. I'm going to try out Lubromoly 5W30 oil for my next oil change, it is a German full synthetic oil.

If you are that picky about your oil, I would reccomend Mobil1 Extended Performance, Pennzoil Ultra or Castrol Edge...
If you ask me, all of the above are overkill... Any Group 3 synthetic will do the job rather adequately.. personally, I am a Mobil 1 man

Agreed! Mobil, Castrol and Pennzoil are all quailty products that will do the job. The important thing to remember is to perform regular oil changes according to your owners manual recommendations. The Oil Change Interval for my wife's Volvo V70 is 7,500 miles while my Toyota Sienna is 5,000. Stick to your OCI and you should not not have any problems whichever oil you pick.

I use Castrol GTX 0W30 (German Castrol) for the S60R. Lot of oil analyses out there proving it for our motors.

I use Castrol in all my cars. You can google "synthetic motor oil" and get some good info on them and some test results. Amsol has a good chart. Some do better in areas than others but the important thing is to use the proper weight and change regularlly.

I would change more often than the manual recommends. My manual says 10,000 miles with my driving styles, I usually change within 5,000. Also, some say you can change less often with synthetic, I say not to exceed the schedule with synthetic and you'll be in real good shape.

With all fluids, the more often you change, the better, but also the more expensive it is. A used Oil Analysis will tell you how well your oil and engine are holding up at the time of your oil change.

Blackstone Laboratories Blackstone Labs charges $25 for their standard oil analysis plus provides you with a free sampling kit. I have used them a few times and am happy with their service.

Has anyone used an oil with titanium as an additive? Kendall and Castrol are the only two companies that I found which offer it.

I am liable to think its a marketing gimmick, but it can't hurt to try..

Honestly, I think most of the main brands within a similar pricerange will offer similar quality..
