Default My one complaint about my s60 ...

I love my 2005 s60, except for one thing. Its an automatic and it shifts to high gear at relatively low rpms. Frequently around town I am going 35-40mph in top gear with under 2000 rpm. Although this is fuel efficient it leads to sluggishness when you want to speed up a little bit. I wish the car would drop down to a lower gear more quickly rather than laboring in a higher gear.

A possible solution is to drive around in "4" not "D" but this seems less than ideal.

I know the car "learns" shift patterns based on driving and If I drove more aggressively it might "relearn" but I don't want to gun the gas at every light.

Anyone else find this?

Thanks

Does that model offer the shifter, so you can shift it? you could leave it in 4th gear. it doesn't really matter.

Yes I can select 4th gear for around town so that it won't shift up to 5th and that will help, I just wondered if others had the same experience.

The car will learn how you drive. I have noticed this with my s60, and it seems to stay in gear a bit longer for me. It knows what i want
