hello im new to the forums

i have a problem with my 2005 volvo s60 my cd player gives me this message "cd error" so i tested a few things

1.used a cd cleaner thinking maybe it didn't read the cd properly but it didn't work
2.tried using a normal cd instead of the burned ones i used and still would not work
3. there is no cd stuck inside or anything i can put a cd and hit the eject button and it will eject the disc

i ran out of ideas of what to do to fix my radio so my other alternative is to buy a new radio

but im not sure if i buy a new radio if i be able to use the audio controls at the steering wheel with the new radio and i would probably need to buy something to acommodate the new radio in the console thing

so my question basically is what else can i try to troubleshoot my current radio?
if i buy new radio would i be able to use the audio controls?

so any advice or help is appreciated
