my transmission stops when warm
Volvo S60 2.4T 2002
When the transmission get just a little warm it stops; after a wait it it will move a very short time. Why?
Is there a on board computer tho diagnose the problem?
have you checked the fluid level and color? Yes the transmission computer will set fault codes for specific conditions. You may also want to try the "shifter row" in case its actually the PNP sensor acting up.
Agreed, fluid level and colour first being sure to check fluid level after driving for a good 20min (i.e. when temp has reached the prescribed 80deg).
Would be very helpful to hook up VIDA to get some live readings on what temp the fluid reaches as you go through the shut-down experience.

Sounds like a solenoid problem to me. When the transmission heats up, the ohms in the coil of the solenoid probably are too great to work properly.
Has the transmission been shifting harshly before this failure?
