Hi y'all, I'm a new member and love the fact there is a place where we all can collectively help one another. This is my first post so I'll get right to it. First a little history about me. I've recently bought my 2nd Volvo (2015.5) S60 premiere plus edition in Caspian blue. Beautiful cream leather interior. T5 w/ turbo AWD. LOVE IT!!! My other Volvo is a 2005 XC70 that's also in pristine condition w/ 315000 KM's. It will now become my winter car. BTW, I'm from Ontario Canada. Until recently you could not get me to say a bad word about any Volvo. My S60 is about to become the 1st. It has so many gizmo's and gadgets on it it is difficult to figure it all out. So when my NAV didn't work immediately I just thought it was my ineptness. I recently had a software issue and took the car to my local dealer to re-flash the car (4 1/2 hours). While there I asked about the NAV not working. I was told it wasn't working because it was never installed. The software that is. Asking why, I was told that I had to purchase it in order to activate it. I think this is absolute BULL****. I've paid a pretty penny for my new vehicle and know of many much cheaper and less worthy cars that have this pre-installed. Why would I ever pay another 1500.00(CAD) for a software code. Does anyone know how I can get around this? I certainly hope this isn't against Forum rules and apologies if it is. The reason why this is so important to me is that I have 2 family vacations planned in the next 4 months in the US and don't want to get lost. My portable Garmin NUVI just went kaput need directions.

 

If your car doesn't have navigation then you either have to install it or buy another Garmin or use your phone. That's about it.
