New Owner and Some Questions
Hey All! I am new to the forums and new to the Volvo world. I just got a 2002 S60 2.4T 102K miles. Needless to say, I'm loving the car.
I do, however, have a couple of questions.
First off, when I shut the car off, there is a buzzing/humming coming from behind the radio/center dashboard. It doesn't ever stop, even when the car is off. Is something running that is causing the buzzing and is this a normal thing, or is this a sign of some kind of problem??
Second, I've had 4 dead batteries in 4 days. A jumpstart gets the car running again. However, if I jump it, turn it off, and then leave it for more than 45 minutes, it doesn't start again. Is this a sign that the battery might just be bad (I don't know if it is the original battery) or is it possible it could be a bigger problem? I don't think I'm leaving anything on in the car (in fact I don't think it's possible to leave anything on, since everything turns off when I lock the car up). I took it to Advance Auto Parts today and had the guy test the battery, and lo and behold, it died right in the parking lot. The guy hooked it to a machine which spit out a message that the battery needs recharging. I don't know if this is just the battery or if this is an alternator issue or something bigger....
However, I am still loving the car. Kinda not liking the fact that the major 105K timing belt service is coming up (to the tune of a heck of a lot of money), and these issues are frustrating, but the car is great. I've been unable to find answers to my questions on the internet and through old posts on this site, so I'm hoping someone can help me out.
Thanks!!!!!!!

RE: New Owner and Some Questions
You need a battery. Timing belt, idler pulley and tensioner can be obtained from www.fcpgroton.com at a reasonable price. Labor to install is about 2 hours any were.
