New Tire choice

I bought the 12 S60 this year from a dealer with good (not new) tires. After looking into it all, the tires had 2 from 2011 and 2 from 2014. three days ago I picked up a large bolt in (one of) the newer tires on the edge of the tread near enough to the sidewall that it was "not repairable"
They are the 215/50-17's MXM's
It's been raining here in San Diego and expected to be a "wet" winter.
With the 2 "old" tires at 4/32 and 5/32 and the new ones at 7 and 8 (this one took the bolt), I decided to get 4 new.
Much debate about replace with same. similar, or different.
After research and prices
Potential tires were
Michelin Premier A/S 60K miles - Primacy MXM and MXV are being phased out.(WHEN?)
Michelin Pilot 3 A/S 45K miles
Yokohama YK580 60K miles
Rebates and discounts considered, all tires were within $100 NET.
The Premiers won and They FEEL great. Costco has a $70 rebate on any Michelin set of 4.
Just with my hand on an uninflated tire they felt best for compromise of flex and grippy feel.
The Pilot was a bit stickier, but I felt like the sidewall would be felt more from the jolt of the bad roads around here.
The Yokohama seemed to have more tread depth. I have a set on a older Volvo xc70.
The new Premiers have some new sipe tech that the tread sustains as they wear. I got roped into the marketing.
I'll try to update as I use them up, but the Volvo really only drives about 500 miles a month.
My Toyota Hybrid take the long trips. And also has the Premiers on it (three months ago).
So far they are quieter and better than the MXV's they replaced.
The ZOT dots are less noticeable and the S60 rides like it's on rails.
If they don't work out I can exchange them for Pilots in 90 days.
