Hi, Im about to purchase a 2013 S60 T5 2.5 AWD (36kmiles) and the VIN search report from carfax shows it hasnt been logged for a service. I checked the oil dipstick and its quite sticky and smells of fuel.

If the previous owners did their own servicing, is there a way to check the service history of the vehicle? ie onboard computer?

The car does drive very well btw

 

Are you buying from the owner or from a dealer? Not all service shops report to Carfax or Autocheck so it is possible regular servicing was done and not reported. And if an owner did the work himself it won't be reported. So if you are buying from the owner hopefully he has service records. 36k miles is real low for a 2013.
