Noise (Clunking) in the rear
I am experiencing a clunking noise in the rear of my '02 S60. The noise appears to be coming from the rear wheel area on the driver's side. The noise is most predominant over bumps. It can still be heard during normal driving as well. I had the vehicle checked. I was advised that the shocks and struts did not show any signs of damage. No leaking etc... They thought the noisemight beloose cargo in the truck. I have removed everything from the truck. That was not it. I even re-secured the plastic cover over the battery. I really believe the noise is coming from the wheel area.

RE: Noise (Clunking) in the rear
Did you check the spare and jack/tools? My jack is held with a velcro strap that seems like it could loosen and let that stuff bounce around. Other than that, I guess I would get the rear end up on stands and check the sway bar links and other suspension linkage....
