Default Noisy front suspension

I have been asked to look at my uncle's '03 S60 D5 80,000 miles, which has a noisy suspension, on the l/h side.

I have replaced the drop links, the lower ball joint and both wish-bone bushes.

The noise still persists, it sounds worse over uneven road surfaces rather than speed bumps.

It sounds more of a rattle, that of locking wheel nut covers or brake pads rattling. I have checked these, all ok.

All I can think of, is the actual strut unit or spring seats.

Any help would be welcomed

I dont not have access to his car all the time, so I may be tardy in replying.

Cheers

gm

I have some noise as well. Maybe not what you are experiencing. But I am 99.9% sure that in my case the strut spring is hitting the inside fender wall under certian conditions.

Usually it is a bad upper spring seat.

Yes if you can turn the top strut nut they are bad.
If it feels rubbery they are good.
