Default Oil Usage

Hello, I have an '06 S60 with just under 124,000 miles. I use Pennzoil Ultra Platinum oil, which is changed every 7,500 miles in accordance with the factory recommendation. I'd say it uses about 3/4 quart in between oil changes. Is this normal for a car with that high mileage? Thanks.

This is just my experience owning a 02 Volvo for the past 10 years and 160,000 miles. My 02 s60 has 240,000 miles on it and burns about the same amount, has been doing that since probably 135k or so. I will say that its a California car in moderate climate with no salt on the roads so things seem to run a long time here. But I do think its common for these vehicles to burn some oil. Lots of Crap American Cars are already in the Junk yard by 100k.
