Default Position Light Out (not)

I often get a message that a position light is out--we will check every light we can think of--and all are fine. Any thoughts on this? I'd love to be able to fix it if it's an easy fix.

I saw it mentioned on another forum that this is very common, and that just re-seating the bulb may prevent it. Have you tried that?

I had the same message last week, but mine really was dead and after testing to make sure, I replaced it. It was the lower of the two red/orange lights at the back (in my case on the left), 12V 5W.

There are 2 bulbs per side in the rear lights. Sometimes one has blown but it is hard to spot because the other is still illuminated. Take a closer look and make sure you can see 2 bulbs lit.

Check for corrosion on the contacts when you pull the bulbs; they may need cleaning. A thin coat of dielectric grease helps keep moisture out. You could also check the assembly's connector.
