Howdy volvo world!.
Just inherited Dad's 04 S60 with 185k on it. Seems to run like a top. One challenge is the steering is stiff.

I want to keep it simple....and do a power steering fluid flush/refill with good clean stuff.

What is the recommended fluid. I've read a ton of posts and the info is all over the place. Watched a couple youtube videos as well.

Can I walk into the local auto zone and buy a synthetic ps fluid and if so what brand would you recommend please?

I walked into my local Autozone last week, told the desk guy what I was buying, and he came back with a quart of Pentosin. I was shocked. But even more shocked by the price. $25.

 

I shopped around local stores, found it in 3 stores. Prices ranged from $18.00 - $23.00 a qrt.

Spent ?? 60 bucks-ish on 3 qrts....iddn't solve the problem. Steering is still stiff. Thinking about replacing the ps pump next? ...hmmm....still wondering if there isn't something along the steering column I can "lube" to maybe free it up?? something binding....
