My 2004 s60 2.5t has a very quiet set of turbos. I know they are low pressure but 2 turbos at 8lbs of boost should be louder and more noticeable. Any way to improve sound? (Not performance, sound)

 

You only have one turbo.

 

newer turbos tend to be much quieter - I own 3 turbo cars: a 95 850T, 00 S40 and '12 VW CC and I can't hear any turbo sounds from the CC where my 850 is full of noises (not all good LOL). If you want to change up the S60, you'd need to look at swapping out either the cat back exhaust or the downpipe from the turbo to the cat. Between the two, I'd say adding a 3 inch down pipe offers some extra performance value - as it cuts back pressure into the turbo (evacuating the gases helps it stay cooler and spool faster)... Going cat back free flow exhaust will change the tone for sure - there's some Youtube posts of cars you can listen too.

Why? The twin turbo is the T6 in the S80 and XC90. You don't want a T6.
