Default Recently purchased 07 S60, came with two old key fobs

Howdy, new here, first post. I recently acquired a 2007 Volvo S60 and he gave me two fobs. One doesn't have a battery or battery cover and the other one is funny about working. Sometimes I stand there pressing the unlock button to get in and it takes several tries. The open trunk button same thing. I'm thinking I need new fobs. What do you think it'll run me to go to the local dealer and get nice new fobs? Can I order them myself and have them program it to the vehicle? About how long would it take for them to order and program? Thanks

They are universal so they keep them in stock and program to each vehicle. Call around to the different dealers near you because they will all price differently. One dealer by me said like $350, 200 for the fob, 50 for the program, and the stupid part.. 100 for labor. My local independent volvo shop will do it for 250. And your fob that takes a few tries to get the door open, try changing the battery in it.

EDIT: Take the battery cover from the funny working one and put a new battery in the other one and see how it works too.

Default Thanks

I will try what you suggested. It is really crazy how much they charge.
